Welcome to CrossPointe Winter Park
New here? Welcome! We realize that checking out a new church can be a very intimidating thing. Even the most confident of people can easily become insecure when it comes to visiting a new church. At CrossPointe, we want to help alleviate some of that potential uneasiness. Though we can’t answer every question, the following is intended to give you a sense of what CrossPointe is all about.
Celebration Service | Sunday Mornings & Evenings
We offer an identical service at two different times each week. We gather for worship on Sunday mornings at 10:00 am and Sunday evenings at 5:30 pm. We encourage you to come as you are. It is our hope that you will find an environment that is welcoming and authentic. We will spend about an hour and fifteen minutes together, as we express our faith through songs, listening to Biblical teaching and participating in weekly communion.
What if you’re not used to going to church?
That's great, because we had you in mind when we started this church. It is our hope and prayer that CrossPointe Winter Park will be a place you can connect relationally as you are encouraged to explore the truth of the Scriptures. Questions are encouraged as we will work hard to create an environment that welcomes the doubter, the disillusioned, and the disconnected. We are not a group of people who have everything together, but we have found hope in the person and work of Jesus.
What about the kids?
CrossPointe is a family-friendly church which desires to point children to Jesus.
If you have kids from infants-5th grade, you will be directed to the kids area of the YMCA. A group of qualified children’s ministry leaders* will check-in, care for, and teach your kids while you are in the church service. Those with young infants or restless babies may utilize our Video Cafe which will provide a live video feed of the service.
If you have kids from infants - pre-K, you will be directed to the kids classrooms just south of the sanctuary building. There will be numerous signs and connection team members to help you find your way. Since the Sunday evening service is just getting underway, we are limiting the KIDS age groups until we are equipped to offer the older kids classes. If you have kids older than pre-K you are more than welcome to bring them into the service with you.
For more information please visit our CrossPointeKIDS page.
*Please know that all of our kids helpers and teachers have undergone a thorough background screening process.
What happens outside of the Sunday celebration service?
We believe whole-heartedly that the church is more than what happens on a Sunday. That is why we have been highly intentional in developing our MISSIONAL COMMUNITY GROUPS. These groups serve as the primary way that we grow in gospel community, for the community. For more information on our missional community groups, and other opportunites, please visit our CONNECT page.
What is the history of CrossPointe Winter Park?
Throughout the summer of 2008 we met monthly to cast vision for this new church and to begin developing leaders. From September through the end of 2008, we focused on building a launch team of the church by meeting weekly on Sunday nights for worship. In January of 2009 we launched our Sunday morning celebration services at the Winter Park YMCA.
What about “one church, multiple congregations”?
CrossPointe Church Orlando, in the Lake Nona area, was launched in the fall of 2001. Since that time, God has used that congregation to plant many churches throughout Central Florida. Up until the launch of CrossPointe Winter Park in January of 2009, the church plants have never been as directly connected to CrossPointe. With the launch of CrossPointe Winter Park, we became one church, with two congregations. By God's grace, we are now one church, with multiple congregations. CrossPointe has always been about pointing our community to Jesus Christ, and now that mission gets to be lived out in multiple contexts. All our congregations function as separate churches that partner through prayer, shared vision, resources and encouragement. It is our hope and prayer that this model will best allow us to live out our value of multiplication. The goal is to continue to plant congregations and churches throughout Central Florida and beyond, in order to see the beauty, harmony and wholeness of God’s kingdom reign in our lives and in our communities.
